Massawa was an interesting place to visit. I was there for
almost 2 months running the InterGulf. It is a poor country
that is still predominantly Christian. At the time I was there
they were at war with Ethiopia and war had taken it toll on the
place and the people.
It is known as one of the hottest places on earth and it does get hot
during the day. At night the people bring their beds out into the street.
There are a couple in the foreground of this picture on both sides of the street.
