The statue of Prince St. Emeric (Szent Imre), standing on a dragon - the symbol of impurity defeated - and holding a sword in one hand and a lily in the other.
Prince St. Imre, also Henricus, Emeric, Emerick, Emmerich, Emericus or Americus (Székesfehérvár (Hungary), about 1000 to 1007 – 2 September 1031) was the son of King St. Stephen I of Hungary and Giselle of Bavaria. He is assumed[1] to be the second son of Stephen, he was named after his uncle, St. Henry II, and was the only of Stephen's sons who reached adulthood. On 2 September 1031, at age 24, Emeric was killed by a boar while hunting.
