Lahnstein/Rhein

Dort, wo der Rhein mit seinen grünen Wellen
So mancher Burg bemooste Trümmer grüßt,
Dort, wo die edlen Trauben saft'ger schwellen,
Und kühler Most des Winzers Müh versüßt.
Dort möcht ich sein, dort möcht ich sein,
Bei dir, du Vater Rhein,
An deinen Ufern möcht ich sein.

Where the Rhine with its green waves Many castle ruins mossy greets Where the noble grapes swell saft'ger, Most of the winemaker and cool toil sweetens. There I'd be, I'd be there, With you, you father Rhine, I'd be on your shores. This poem matches your photo... and your photo matches the spirit of the poem.
