We spent a long day touring around various sights near Amsterdam. I thought the neatest thing was the Delft china factory. It was interesting to see how these guys make the pottery and also hand paint everything. Anyway, what would any trip through the Dutch countryside be without a visit to a windmill. We did exactly that, of course. I didn't realize that many of the windmills were used to pump water between canals. I also didn't realize that the canals were on many levels and were used to drain the low areas.
