The Graduate's lineage goes back to the 1966 introduction of the Alfa Romeo Spider, which brought Alfa a great deal of attention in the United States and elsewhere when it was driven in the 1968 film "The Graduate" by the title character played by Dustin Hoffman. The model bearing the movie's title was introduced in 1985 as an entry-level and lower-priced Alfa. It had the engine and transmission of the Quadrifoglio and Veloce, but had none of the luxury features of the other two. Its production run ended in 1990. (Information provided by the museum.)
