Four images of the Ermine(Weasel) of which I first posted three images yesterday at http://www.pbase.com/image/141757115. I had seen Ermines previously but up until now had never succeeded in getting a picture of one. This one, whilst in hot in pursuit of a Red Squirrel was almost oblivious to the presence of several photographers. Irrespective of that however, it was a challenge to get "in focus" shots of the fast moving critter and its intended prey.In the first two images, the Ermine had briefly paused to check the whereabouts of the Squirrel, thus allowing me to get off a burst of shots. In the end, the Squirrel got away whilst the Ermine ran off into the woods.

The chase is on. Totally out of focus, but included to illustrate how the Ermine almost caught up to the Red Squirrel and to illustrate the difficulty of getting good shots of these fast moving critters through the heavy thicket.
