Meroe Sudan

This is a medium resolution jpg panorama file of the pyramid field at Meroe in The Sudan . It was rendered from twenty three contiguous images. The images were shot in portrait mode to take advantage of the additional "zoom" capability of the portrait format. The original Photoshop file was over 794 megabytes. The rendered image was leveled, shadow/highlighted, local contrast sharpened according to Ctein and given slight smart sharpening. 330 KV power lines and towers were cloned out. The image was then reduced to 768 px vertical for screen viewing. The final image is approximately 1.5 megabytes which was pretty much unavoidable as a more ambitious .jpg was over 8 megabytes and unacceptable as a download.
This is a VBL panorama, select "original" below and scroll the image across screen .

Spectacular landscape. Something I feel I will never see so thank you Wazza. Time of day gives great shadows and I saw 3 trees growing so there must be birds! Love it!
