The idea behind this one is that, as well as the better known enormous, sleep-for-a-hundred-years-on-a-heap-of plundered-gold variety, dragons also come in a miniature size. Being naturally predatory, they can be flown for hunting in much the same way as hawks and falcons in the real world. If used to hunt for food, they offer the added benefit that anything they catch comes ready-cooked!

(I make no claim for originality of this idea, as "pseudo-dragons" have been around in fantasy novels for years. Terry Pratchett makes use of them in his "Discworld" series, although his pseudo-dragons have an unfortunate habit of exploding unless their diet is very carefully regulated)
