12_Apr_2010 Dunstanburgh Castle

Northumberland

The north tower of Dunstanburgh Castle from Embleton Beach.
These large black rounded rocks on the beach are reminiscent of cannonballs,
they would have looked great with a low sun on them.
Pity there was no sunrise that morning...just mist until around 0800hrs....
then the sun burned it off!

Somehow I think that this shot shouldn't work, but is does, wonderfully!

I like this a lot, the main focus being on the pebbles in the foreground works well, I think the castle being in slight silhouette highlights it as much as it needs.

Very interesting foreground interest leading the eye to the castle beyond!

A different sense of perspective! ... I am not sure if the foreground is small or large ... wonderful castle outline
