Perfect conditions greeted us on Rannoch moor this January. Snow capped peaks, iced rivers and lockens, and dramatic winter light. A dusting of snow - the icing (sugar) on the cake.
This river had been completely frozen over, but as the water level dropped, the ice broke up and drifted off. Formations of ice crystals stuck to rocks 2 inches above the surface of the water.
