This was my grandfather, J. W. Venable, DVM and his Scottie Belle sometime in the early 20's. Belle went on all Dad V's calls with him (mostly large animals then). She obviously was not too happy being held still to have her picture taken. She was also none too happy when my mother came along. Belle was finally sent to live with my great grandmother, who doted on her. There were numerous Scotties over the following years, but none as special as Old Belle.
