Our second day was spent in the northern section of Yellowstone National Park. Steve and I had previously been to the southern part of the park where the geothermal features are the main attraction. The northern part of the park has more varied terrain with large buttes, mountains, valleys, meadows, and water falls.
Our first stop of the day was the Soda Butte picnic area. This was Norah's introduction to ground squirrels and she was smitten from the first chirp. Norah excitedly ran around signing "more" and bending down to get a better look at the critters. They seemed equally interested as they stood on their hind legs to check out Norah (probably wondering how tender and tasty her little fingers would be).
