At Home, Texas Canyon, Dragoon, AZ

The Bobcat trumps the Vermilion Flycatcher - meaning I was going to post three lovely shots of a
beautiful Vermilion Flycatcher until I looked out my kitchen window less than one hour before this
posting and saw this gorgeous Bobcat sitting under our travel trailer.

This first shot was taken at 6:25 PM through the kitchen window and the fence around our inside yard.
The last image was taken at 6:37 PM and I was standing inside our rock wall on our upper yard.
The Bobcat was only several feet away from me! My heart is still pounding!
Wow - what an amazing experience!

The beautiful Bobcat is walking over to the watering hole in our yard.

He/she just finished taking one of several very long drinks of water from my watering hole.

He/she is sitting only several feet from me:

"Amazing" is not a strong enough word! I mean, one just doesn't see these things outside of zoos. The canyon spirits must be pleased with you to visit you in such a form!

Fantastic series Carol! Actually prob good that the fencing is there...always worry about rabies in the wild. (He also looks rather hungry!)
Char10-Aug-2009 03:00
Oh my goodness Carol! What and exciting time. Great captures of this cat in the different poses. He looks very domestic in the first shot. \/

Good on you for keeping your camera at the ready too!
VERY cool shots!
Sam Rua10-Aug-2009 02:43
Fantastic series Carol. The eyes in that last shot are AWESOME. If the fencing weren't there then you'd have a "lifetime" shot.
