I agree with all three comments here. But spirits can never be contained. That's what makes them spirits!

Another powerful image. The spirit, once confined, emerges through death and ascends upward.

The soft focus tracks suggest cigarette smoke to me. Pall Mall and the pall of death.

The softly focused tracks do indeed suggest escape for the spirit, but an iron fence and barbed wire simultaneously hems it in. It is the tension between escape and entrapment gives this image its energy.
