There is a lot more than meets the eye in this picture. It looks like a typical picture of Ginny with her friend Pat. Here's the story:

Ginny wanted to invite her friend Pat over for a typical female "whine and wine" get together. That normally means that yours truly needs to make himself scarce. For some reason I was invited to participate, in the wine part not the whine part. Guys don't whine. They occasionally bitch and moan, but we don't whine.

Ginny made up a nice tray of goodies, and Pat arrived loaded for bear, all sorts of cheese, crackers and a nice melted cheese spread. All that stuff looked pretty good to me. Ginny decided to have the party in the living room with the Christmas tree. I was happy to attend for the food and drink part of the evening. We had a good time. I found out a lot of stuff about coworkers, bosses and family that really went in one ear and out the other. I was busy eating and drinking.

There was also some other conversation about Yoga, which I didn't understand at all. You see, a guy automatically thinks about the Beatles when they went weird with the Maharishi when Yoga is mentioned. Turns out they were not talking about the Beatles. Now, I figured all that Yoga stuff had to do with the lotus position, but I was assured that there was a lot more to it than that. I think Pat mentioned Power Yoga or something like that. I guess that has to do something with diesel engines, but I am not sure.

SO the night went on with a female-female conversation which I never understood. Finally, toward the end, the phone rang and it was our neighbor Francie calling. At this point I direct your attention to the photo. There are a few noteworthy things. First, their wine glasses are empty. Second, in the foreground is the top af an empty wine bottle, the second empty of the night. And third, Ginny and Pat are sitting on the floor. So apparently Francie asked what was going on and ginny said they were sitting on the floor (I was NOT). Francie asked if that was because they had too much to drink. Being very close to the floor when you have had too much is a good thing, trust me. Ginny said that was not the case, they were sitting on the floor to get closer to the food. I gotta remember that excuse, it may come in handy some time.
