Glen Etive, Glencoe, Scotland.

Whenever I travel down to the end of the loch at Glen Etive the dilapidated jetty beckons but I always seem to get there when the most atrocious weather imaginable hits it and photography from the nearby boat shed is the only real option. Once again the wind and rain howled but for the briefest of instants a patch of sun scorched a circle of light across the slope beyond lifting the intense colours of grass and brackens festooning the slopes behind.

NEW!! Photographic workshops and masterclasses due out in the New Year at TRANSIENT LIGHT.

I love the lighting on the foreground - there's so much detail in the old posts that they seem alive and almost touchable! The composition is a killer, too - the reddy-browns of the smooth hillside contrast with the greys of the old jetty's jagged stumps. Beautiful photo. V

Stunning colour and detail on the far shore. The long exposure was an interesting choice that really works here. Nicely done Ian.
