The Dirty Look

For years Sandy and Annie have been rivals for
attention from the "boys", nesting sites, sleeping
areas and food. Their encounters with each other
often involve lots of shell ramming and even
occasional nipping. In the last 5 years they have
taken to living in separate parts of the yard but
tonight, for some reason, Annie was in Sandy's
territory and to add insult to injury she was at
the feeding site. Sandy's look said it all.
Annie took off and headed back to her own territory
and her own feeding area.

Sandy and Annie came to me as adults in 1977 and
are approximately 60 years old.

Super capture, Pam. Sandy knows what she wants, and gets her way! Marvelous frown on that testy tortoise!

I didn't know Tortoises could purse their lips. Too funny. Good thing they've worked out their territories! ha ha. Linda S
