Sovereign In Sapphire

Dava Moor, Moray, Scotland.

A circular sovereign of golden grass frozen in a loch of solid ice itself reflecting the blue sky of a perfect winter morning. As the ice heated up in the morning sun it began to whine and creak like a disgruntled dog finally exploding with a gun shot like bang as the ice sheet fractured.

Love how the light plays in the picture, with the frozen grass in the shade, and the warming sunlight on the island admist the chill of the water.
