A day of mixed weather; and mixed fortunes.
Because of the forecast of very heavy rain -- which
didn't hit me until I had less than a mile to go, of course --
I didn't take the DSLR: and, therefore, had a very
close encounter with a grey heron. Blast.

That is always the way of things! I went out in the snow today and didn't take any camera and came across a flock of robins in the snow. Darn! Your photo is magnificent! V
