North Head and Beard's Hollow, Cape Disappointment, WA

This is the windiest location on the West Coast, and reputed to be the location of Meriwether Lewis' first view of the Pacific Ocean on November 15, 1805.

It is named for Captain E.N. Beard, who's body was found here after the sinking of his ship at the Columbia River Bar("Graveyard of the Pacific") in 1853.

Beautiful coast with a very nice mood. The trees on the sloping ridge are a very nice element in this well composed photo, Hal. Vote.
