UPDATE: Last pictures in gallery are from XXXI Országos Táncháztalálkozó 2012. I didn't take that many images this time around, but I certainly enjoyed it. There wasn't as much going on in the main hall, so we stuck to the side rooms and basement, where bands were jamming and everybody but me :-( was dancing. I used to do this kind of folk dancing years ago and still adore the music but am content (sort of) to watch and photograph.

This was a phenomenal event where a huge number of people, both participants and spectators, gathered to celebrate the Dance House movement in Hungary, which as I understand it, has revitalized traditional music and dance. It was exciting to see so many people, especially young people, involved in such a happening. It was accompanied by a huge traditional craft fair as well. I used to do this kind of dancing a long time ago and am familiar with the music, dances and costumes, so it was very nostalgic to watch.

We were only able to attend during the day on Saturday, which was geared more towards very young people, although there were older folks joining in. The evenings were when the large dance galas occurred, but unfortunately we had commitments and couldn't attend. Next year, for sure.
