Development gone crazy

Every time we go the The Yards, one of the hottest areas of Washington, I am simply stunned at all the new construction. I had photographed the old power plant – formerly part of the Navy Yard -- when we returned from Riyadh in 2016, and there was just an empty lot in front of it. Then, there was a construction site and a big hole in the ground. Now there’s a huge new condominium building. I was glad to see the power plant was still there, but I can imagine it being repurposed into something “cooler” in the near future.

Best to view in "Original" because other versions resized by Pbase are decidedly unsharp.

Room enough for two, posted earlier:

Neat shot of this impressive condo - the power plant sort of brings one back to earth :) V

Wouldn't you love to have the window cleaning contract for this building?

That's quite a condo! Out here there seems to be nothing but destructive fires.

So much glass and steel. Really miraculous how such places are planned and built.

Neat contrast between the power plant sandwiched between those two ultra modern buildings. Love the reflections in the windows.
