We went back to Constitution Gardens on Sunday to see if the lack of birds last weekend had been an aberration, but it wasn’t. There still were a number of ducks, but the Canada geese were gone, too.
One surprise visitor was this immature black crowned night heron, which Tom Munson was kind enough to identify for me. The heron landed on the island in the middle of all the ducks, upon which several altercations broke out.
Best to view in "Original" because other versions resized by Pbase are decidedly unsharp.
