This has always been one of my favorite houses on the Hill, and now it’s for sale, for $4.75 million. It was built in 1903 by a stonemason from Italy and has seven bedrooms, five baths and a two-car garage. The house encompasses 5,688 square feet and the property three lots. It’s called the “Deer House” because of a stone statue of a deer located in its front garden (seen at right). Capitol Hill has become a desirable and expensive neighborhood in Washington, but that price is astronomical even for here. Needless to say, I don’t think we’ll be buying it ;-).
If interested, there are a lot of photos in the inside at http://www.redfin.com/DC/Washington/712-E-Capitol-St-NE-20003/home/10183501?utm_source=google&utm_medium=ppc&utm_campaign=1021582&utm_term=kwd-970246450967&utm_content=442287991848
Best to view in "Original" because other versions resized by Pbase are decidedly unsharp.
