This group was playing in a garden on East Capitol Street as the protesters marched by. A sign on the gate said, “Capitol Hill Baptist Church members. Playing and praying for a change of hearts and honoring of life.” I had to trespass in a neighbor's yard to get this, thus the beautiful lily in the shot.

We were heading down East Capitol Street looking for birds and flowers, but what we encountered instead was a protest march from our park to the National Mall. A pastor from another part of the city told us that the march comprised evangelical groups from around the DC-Maryland-Virginia area. We followed along as far as the US Capitol and got some pictures, but didn’t see many birds.
