Lake Anna State Park

Lake Anna State Park was beautiful, although the huge crowds there detracted a bit from the natural beauty.

Best to view in "Original" or “Auto” because other versions resized by Pbase are decidedly unsharp.

*****

We drove down to Lake Anna, only 72 miles from Washington (although it took two-and-a-half hours to get there). It’s one of the largest freshwater inland reservoirs in the state of Virginia and is 17 miles long, with 200 miles of shoreline. We only visited the state park (which was packed with families who were swimming, picnicking, boating and fishing), but there are a lot of luxury homes built along the lake as well as a nuclear power plant.

It looks like there might be plenty of places to explore in the woods away from people. A fine place for a summer day.

It does look rather crowded for my taste, but the landscape is lovely. Terrific shot, Helen. V
