Photo op, Franciscan Monastery

I thought this was sort of an interesting setup for photos. Taken at the Franciscan Monastery in northeast DC.

Best to view in "Original" or “Auto” because other versions resized by Pbase are decidedly unsharp.

Translucent, posted earlier:

Nikon Z 7 ,Nikkor Z 24-70 f2.8 S
1/100s f/5.6 at 32.5mm iso2500 full exif

other sizes: small medium large original auto

What an interesting and unexpected setup. I like that they have a sense of humour. V

A funny find indeed. You are right, when a photographer has a good eye for details it's possible to find excellent subjects for pictures also in one's backyard.

A great and unique find. If one were contemplating orders they could sort of try it on for size here.

he must be a tall fellow since he towers over his acolytes...interesting that the doves are flying away from the charade..

That's because the Pope has spent all of his life before becoming Pope, as a Franciscan. It is also why he chose the name of Francis as a Pope, to honor St-Francis of Assisis, who is often portrayed as a Franciscan with birds around him, he supposedly talked to animals! Have your portrait taken with a cardboard Pope!
