'Oasis' in a raging river

This was the Potomac River on Saturday at Great Falls Park, about a 20-minute drive from DC. We had had heavy rainfall for the last six days, and the river had reached flood stage, cresting on Sunday.

This was literally the only part of the falls above water (see a couple of pictures back for the falls in normal times). It was simply amazing.

This really looks like a Chinese painting where mist and clouds have been replaced by fury water ! Great work...BV.
