The last part of the US Botanic Garden’s Season’s Greenings display featured plant-based D.C. landmarks in the Garden Court. Some of them I had photographed last year but am posting new pictures of them here.
The statue of Thomas Jefferson was made from eucalyptus leaves, sycamore bark, mahogany pods, seagrass rope, coriander seed and grape tendrils; his coat from cinnamon; vest from white birch bark; and hair from lichens. An awful lot of work for such a small part of this display! The dome was obviously made from a gourd.
Taurus Mountains, southern Turkey, posted earlier.
