National Museum of the American Indian

The last part of the US Botanic Garden’s Season’s Greenings display featured plant-based D.C. landmarks in the Garden Court. Some of them I had photographed last year but am posting new pictures of them here.

This is the National Museum of the American Indian, another relatively new museum on the Mall (as Smithsonian museums go). I’d have to say that of all these models, this one looks the least like the building it’s meant to portray. The building materials are far too numerous to type out here, but the roof is made of pigeon plum leaf.

Frozen solid, posted earlier.
