Drummond’s red maple

We took a quick trip out to the National Arboretum during Thanksgiving week to see if there were any fall colors there since we haven’t had much in our neighborhood. We didn’t find a whole lot, but it was pleasant walking around the near empty grounds on a crisp autumn afternoon.

This is a Drummond’s red maple, in training since 1974.

Very beautiful indeed, a mini-forest not just a collection of plants. So much work has gone into training these!

It is so neat that they keep these tiny trees in pristine shape for so long.

So beautiful! Great that you captured it so well while it has its fall colors still. ~BV~
