Waiting for tenants, and electricity

These are all new houses that aren’t yet occupied, a common sight around the DQ (plus the dirt lot, which is even more common). Apparently the electricity company can’t support more usage and won’t connect new houses to the grid, so the dwellings just sit vacant. If they ever get their act together, the DQ will be booming, with literally hundreds of new houses, two major hotels and a host of office buildings all under construction.

It resembles a ghost town - with no ghosts I'm guessing :) I rather like the starkness as an image (not to live in !!) V

With all that sunshine, you'd think there would be solar power.

Wow, sounds to me like poor planning on the part of the power company!!

I always find your commentary completely fascinating and glad you take the time to explain what you are photographing as it really enhances the great images. This is no exception. Almost like a bit of a ghost town within the DQ, though I imagine not all in one location? Super shot. V
