Oslo Cathedral, original organ

On our last morning in Oslo, we visited the cathedral. Seems like it had been closed when we tried to go before. It was consecrated in 1697 and restored to its original baroque interior in 1950. Oslo Cathedral is the main church for the Church or Norway, Diocese of Oslo, as well as the parish church for downtown.

The original organ with acanthus carvings.

I haven’t been able to post any pictures today or make any comments; just far too busy at work with several crises to deal with. An employee who was to leave in a week suddenly decided to stop work altogether but neglected to tell me, and my newspaper is most likely going to be taken over by the Turkish government with crony trustees installed to run it. The party in power and the president of the country don’t like us because we’re among the last vestiges of an opposition press, so they’ll try to do away with us as they have with several other media outlets recently. (My boss, the editor-in-chief, was arrested last month and held in prison for five days for allegedly "insulting the president of Turkey in tweets" and was finally released pending trial.) In any case, I’m sure I won’t have a job soon because I’ll either be fired for being in management, or I’ll quit because I refuse to work for a government mouthpiece, especially a government like that.

The one good thing is that Tim is back home!

what a grand organ...the situation at the paper sounds disturbing, but good for you for sticking to your principles...stuck disseminating propaganda and censored stories would not be journalism...good luck there..
