We spent most of the day driving from the Sahara, in southeastern Morocco, to Ouarzazate, our somewhat boring stop for the night before reaching Marrakech.
We stopped at Todgha Gorge at the eastern end of the High Atlas Mountains. It’s quite popular with tourists and locals alike and reportedly offers excellent rock climbing. This part of the gorge, however, had a paved road running through it and was full of souvenir stands.
This attractive building in the middle of the gorge was quite a surprise, although I guess it shouldn’t have been since that part of the canyon had been turned into a real tourist attraction.
