We spent most of the day driving from the Sahara, in southeastern Morocco, to Ouarzazate, our somewhat boring stop for the night before reaching Marrakech.
We stopped at Todgha Gorge at the eastern end of the High Atlas Mountains. It’s quite popular with tourists and locals alike and reportedly offers excellent rock climbing. This part of the gorge, however, had a paved road running through it and was full of souvenir stands.
This man was looking for people ride his donkey, but I opted for a picture instead. He doesn’t look too happy, but we ran into him later and he joked about his donkey being a “Berber taxi.”
