Feeling poorly

Riyadh, Saudi Arabia

As I mentioned on another picture, Sahraa has been feeling poorly for a few days, so much so that we canceled a two-day trip to the Farasan Islands yesterday. We had kids who would have walked and fed her, but we simply couldn’t leave her in the house for very long periods of time (which is normally fine) with no one to let her out in an emergency, of which there have been several recently.

Tim contacted the emergency vet from a clinic in town who advised no food for 24 hours and after that, chicken and potatoes, saying the starch would help. She ate it this evening and has had no accidents today, and seems to feel a bit better, so hopefully she’s on the road to recovery. We will still probably take her in to see the vet when they reopen late tomorrow afternoon.

Sahraa never lets me take pictures of her if she can help it. When I pulled this little camera out of its bag (and hadn’t even turned it on), she immediately ran into the kitchen to Tim. I did manage to get a few captures between her looking to Tim for protection and hiding under the table and behind the bag of dog food. I was happy to the pictures, although I’m not so sure about this camera, yet!

Hoping she's doing better by now. Not sure if the look is because she's not feeling well or because she hates having her photo taken.

Awww….. so sorry to hear Sahraa was not feeling well. You could also try some plain white rice. Best to take her in for a visit though. Hope this post finds her well again. Such a sweet looking face! V

She doesn't want to be photographed when she isn't feeling well... after all, don't we all want to look our best in pictures? Glad to hear there's a little improvement today. V

ProPoor baby. I hope she,s making constant progress. In my many years of dog ownership i've found the best way to get rid of intestinal accidents is to fully fast. Ricky once got very sick after eating marrow from a shin bone and I had to fast him for three days. The vet can give you a pill that will stop the loose bowels, if that is the problem, but you must return to feeding very carefully and in limited amounts of the right foods.
