The MS Lagarfoss was a brand new, super modern, absolutely enormous container ship in port; we ran into people attending a big reception for the ship in the elevator at Harpa, the performing arts center we were visiting.
It was built in China and just commissioned this year for its Icelandic owner (EIMSKIP). I don’t think it has even taken its maiden voyage yet, other than to get from the shipyard to Reykjavík.
The ship was open to the public that day, but we just didn’t have time for a tour as we had to get back home for dinner. It was so big that I couldn’t even get a wide shot of it from across the street!
