The Blue Lagoon is reportedly Iceland’s top tourist attraction. It’s a spa fed by water heated by the Svartsengi geothermal plant which is rich in blue-green algae, mineral salts and silica mud. We didn’t go in to the pool but just walked around to see what all the hype was about. I’m sure it would have been relaxing, but personally I think Iceland’s natural wonders are the main attraction.
This body of water was actually outside the main spa complex, and there wasn’t anything I found too photogenic, but I did like the color of the water, which was different from the pool inside. The geothermal plant that feeds the spa is in the background.
