The reason we drove halfway across the country

This is a tribal mask from the Madinah region. We had seen it at a bazaar in Riyadh but didn't have enough cash to pay for it then (and wasn't quite sure about the credit card arrangements), so had them hold it for us until we could make the eight-hour round trip drive to their store in Al Khobar to buy it. It's currently sitting on the floor, but we hope to get it put up soon. Our walls are all concrete, so it isn't just a matter of sticking a nail in the wall and hanging it.

Fascinating mask - were you able to find out info on its era, etc. ? Good luck with the hanging ! V

fascinating and so ornate...perhaps for special ceremonies, or weddings.
