Church of St. Bridget

This was a place of sanctuary and worship for the members of Solidarity in the 1980s. The Gothic church was built in 1514 and a more modern belfry was added in 1653.

This looks very festive with the bunting.
We have an Irish St Bridget who is associated with Faughart, near where I live, but I presume
this is a different saint.
