Arsenal, rear

Built in 1600-9, the Arsenal is the finest example of Dutch Mannerist architecture in Gdańsk. It is now home to shops on the first floor (although we sure didn't see any) and the Academy of Fine Arts above.

I loved the cannonballs (stuck with something) on the top and the whimsical downspouts.

Looks like flames are coming out of the cannon balls. Superb details in this shot. One would expect this type of architecture more in Holland, Belgium or North Germany. "V"
