Attorney; State Railroad commissioner;Delegate to the First Republican National Convention, 1856 (member of the credentials committee); Judge of Rutland County Court; 2 term state Legislator from Wallingsford; State Senator from Rutland County 1 term; States attorney 2 terms; Side judge 2 terms. He was killed when his buggy was involved in a runaway accident in Rutland.
