Attorney, State Legislator, 1862; Brother-in-law to famous poet Julia Ripley Dorr; Traveled to Europe in 1864 remaining until 1873; Lost at Sea when the White Star liner “Atlantic” was caught in a fierce North Atlantic gale and floundered off the coast of Halifax, Nova Scotia. 535 lives were lost including he and his wife.
