Beijing, China

In case you hadn't heard, the invasion has begun. This poorly-disguised spaceship landed in central Beijing during my visit to China this week, and I had my camera at the ready. In an effort to prevent others from learning of their arrival, the aliens are circulating a story that this is actually The National Centre for the Performing Arts, which they are asking people to call simply "The Egg." They claim it is an opera house, that it ellipsoid dome is made of titanium and glass, and that the structure is surrounded by an artificial lake. They say the building seats 5,452 people in three halls and is almost 12,000 square meters in size. They have even gone so far as to claim that the "building" was designed by French architect Paul Andreu, and constructed between 2001 and 2007. But we all now know the truth. In an effort to avoid the forthcoming harvest, I'm packing my bags and heading to the arctic. Best of luck to you all.
