This one has had a bit of retouching done. The original slide can be seen by clicking on "previous". The Palace is now missing the "gable "area.

Well, it seems my wife linked the reference pictures. That explains it!

WOW! Thanks for the reference pictures. Now we have a name to go with the photo. My dad (the sailor in the picture) was called to Berlin in 1961. He was heading back to the US on the Destroyer USS Miller and visited port cities in Europe. He could not recall the name of the palace. Now if only I could figure a way to rebuild the missing roof information. Great seeing how similar the shots are. I guess this is the way to take the Palace shot! Thanks again whoever posted the photos!
