This Woodpecker is endemic to The Dominican Republic./Haiti (Hispaniola Island). There were quite a few of these Woodpeckers around our resort, usually up high in the Palm Trees, but occasionally they came down to pick berries.

On our second day at the resort, whilst walking the beach, I found several of these Woodpeckers attacking these berries which were quite low. I managed several shots and went back to check on these trees every day for several days, but never did see the Woodpeckers picking berries from them again.
