Five behavioural images of a male Kestrel catching lunch, then having it snatched away and eaten by big Mamma.

Top Image: I saw this male perched on a palm branch when all of a sudden it dove down and snatched up a Lizard from the ground, then it headed for this perch appearing pleased with its catch, but also looking a bit apprehensive.


As I was adjusting my camera settings for the new location, a larger female flew in and stole the Lizard from the smaller male.


The male looking somewhat intimidated.


The female, still holding on to lunch, checks back to see if the male will try to get its lunch back.


The male decides not to tangle with the larger female. Here it takes off, presumably to look for an other meal.
