An out of place Northern Shoveler among dozens of Mallards in a small open stream. My first sighting of a Shoveler in the Winter. The Shoveler,though slightly smaller than the Mallards and though being subjected to repeated pecks from the Mallards, nevertheless held his own whilst scouring for food.
