Four images of a Great Egret that recently posed for some of us amidst the Fall-coloured foliage. Previously we had only seen several Egrets hunting for food in the bay, and then fly of to some distant roost. For the past few days, however, this lone remaining Egret seems to have decided to roost in the colourful trees along the far shore. We had to wade through swamp and cattails to get to it, but were rewarded for our efforts. This is especially rewarding since Egrets have only come to our region recently and only a few have now nested here these past two years.
