This image was made of 3 parts. First the lace background image,
then the book, scarf, pearls and stamp image and finally the little
girl playing dressup. An old photo effect was applied from nik color efex.

She is my granddaughter (one of 7 grandkids). No, it did not take long to do. I had the pieces parts as part of a work assignment where we are building an interface on stories of children with Down syndrome. We are going to put stuff together in Life Glimpses for physicians. I started with the image of just the lace for the background. I cut the book, scarf, pearls, stamp image and place it. I had the picture of my granddaughter from a recent visit. The HARDEST part was cutting my granddaughter from the background and trying to get her wispy hair on the right side. I tried several different methods and was not totally successful. Her image was on a background with both light and dark elements so it seemed very hard for me. I then adjusted the levels and used an Old Photo effect from nik efex--just selected the one I liked which gave a sort of coppery color to her hair. Her parents loved it and my son now has a picture on his desk at work.--Rene
